NKT Cables lands 260 mDKK submarine project

NASDAQ OMX Copenhagen Nikolaj Plads 6 DK-1007 Copenhagen K 13 September 2010 Release No. 22 NKT Cables lands 260 mDKK submarine project NKT Cables has signed a contract with RWE Innogy in Germany for the manufactureand delivery of a High Voltage Submarine Cable to the coming Welsh offshorewind farm “Gwynt y Môr”. In total, NKT Cables will produce 85 kilometres 132 kVHigh Voltage Submarine Cables and accessories for the transmission system.Contract value is around 260 mDKK. The cables are to be produced at the newly built cable factory in Germany andproduction begins late 2011 for delivery mid 2012. "Gwynt y Môr" wind farm, which with a capacity of 576 MW will be one of theworld's largest wind farms, is expected to be finalized in 2014. The energyfrom a total of 160 wind turbines will be carried 13 km to shore, and connectedto the grid on land at St Asaph.
