OMX The Nordic Exchange, CopenhagenNikolaj Plads 6DK-1007 Copenhagen K3 March 2008Release no. 2 Nilfisk-Advance makes new US acquisitionWith the acquisition on 1 March 2008 of the American company HydraMaster, amanufacturer of truck-mounted carpet cleaners, Nilfisk-Advance has strengthenedboth its position as a supplier to the professional cleaning market and itsrange of indoor cleaning equipment. By agreement with the seller the purchaseprice will not be disclosed. The addition of HydraMaster, which follows in the wake of last year'sacquisition of the company U.S. Products, is an element in Nilfisk-Advance'sstrategy of product and market expansion in North America. With the acquisition of HydraMaster, the Nilfisk-Advance Group has strengthenedits focus on carpet and upholstery cleaning, an area in which the company hasnow established itself among the dominant equipment suppliers. HydraMaster is a 40-year-old private-owned company with a product portfoliothat includes equipment, accessories and articles for the cleaning andmaintenance of carpets, upholstery, and other fabric surfaces. The company hasbeen especially innovative in developing high quality truck mounted cleaners. Established in 1969, HydraMaster subsequently - in 1985 and 1998 - acquiredthree other US suppliers of similar equipment, and today employs some 120people at its headquarters in Mukilteo, Washington. HydraMaster recordedrevenue of 24.2 mUSD (120 mDKK) in 2007 and is a commercially successfulbusiness. It is planned to continue developing and marketing the company's products underthe HydraMaster brand, and also to continue manufacturing these products at theMukilteo plant. However, coordination will take place at managerial level withthe sister company, U.S. Products, in Idaho.
